Rejuvenated Time Traveler tuned to go quicker in Queensland
The Peirano family-run Time Traveler Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars team is back in the paddock on October 28 at Willowbank Raceway and the team are keen to stop the clocks quickly as they return to nitro action!
The team’s driver, Nathan Peirano, is keen to get back behind the wheel of the popular Chevy Vega in front of a home-state crowd!
Peirano explained, “We have made some minor tweaks to the car but no massive changes have been required.”
“The one thing we have adjusted is Dad’s (Team owner, Peter Peirano) poor scheduling of holidays when race meetings are on!
“We would have attended Springmount on both the original and re-run dates but he was away both times on different holidays,” laughed the Rockhampton racer.
The team has had some challenges off the track however, with Peter dealing with some health issues including a knee replacement and a heart surgery.
Nathan Peirano added, “We race as a family and we basically decided to not race until he was able to attend meetings again.
“For the set-up on the car, it is essentially the same as usual, we just need to get the driver up to speed again and step it up bit-by-bit,” laughed Peirano.
Peirano is, however, a well-credentialed Supercharged Outlaws campaigner and is well-known as one of the best in the field when it comes to reaction times.
Series Manager, Morice McMillin added “It’s great to have the Peirano family and the Time Traveler back in the pits and the track.”
“We are all glad Peter is back to health and we all know Nathan will be a threat on the track. No one knows the Willowbank track better than those guys!”
The October 28 round of the QDRC will feature 12 Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars, wheelstanders, a dedicated Kid’s Play Zone and a full field of support classes, this is going to be a fun night of entertainment for the entire family with the nitro cars on track from 3:30pm onwards.
